Timber Selection

Tesch Tables uses Australian Hardwoods, primarily Blackbutt and Tallowood sourced from northern New South Wales. Some are new, some are recycled. All are fast-growing and selected to last. We don't use imports, we source sustainably milled hardwoods. All timbers are class 2 or above, and with a bit of care are rated to last 30+ years in the outdoors.

When you order your table, we’ll ask how much timber character you’re looking for. Whether its a slick look with minimal veins and knots, or a character-filled table where each plank tells a story, we’ll make your table to your preference.

All timber is treated with an Australian-based oil: Cutek Extreme range, a finish favoured by architects for its protection in challenging climates. We tend to use two main colour tints: a lighter warm blonde or a slightly darker chestnut - the choice is yours.
